Getting To Know YOU

I'm sooooo #94 on MannLand5 today! You should play along too!

The questions..

1. Would you rather bungee jump or sky dive?
2. When using a public restroom to you squat over the seat or sit?
3. Favorite flower?
4. Pedicure or manicure?
5. How many siblings do you have?
6. Do you pee in the shower? (gasp!)
7. Bikini, tankini, or one piece?
8. Where do you hate to shop at, but go there anyway?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Would you rather bungee jump or sky dive?

If I have to choose, I'll go bungee jumping because it's never the fall that gets you!

2. When using a public restroom to you squat over the seat or sit?
It really depends on the place. I used to be a squatter everywhere, but since the babies came along sometimes I get need those few seconds of rest. My tired old knees can't take it anymore!

3. Favorite flower?

I L-O-V-E some gerbera daisies! I did such a good job on the SIL's cake! I'm still proud I pulled that off!

4. Pedicure or manicure?

Pedi all the way!
My feet are crusty. In a tom-boy, never wear shoes kinda way.

5. How many siblings do you have?

One, terrible, horrible, no good, very bad sister.

6. Do you pee in the shower? (gasp!)

Everyday!

7. Bikini, tankini, or one piece?

Right now, no-kini. I need to go shopping. I have always rocked the bikini, even hugely pregnant. But post pregnancy the tummy is nothing to be showing off. Did I mention I'm restarting my work out/diet/not be a fatty program tomorrow?

Let's hope for a not too mom-ish swim suit!

8. Where do you hate to shop at, but go there anyway?

The grocery store! I work there and hate going in. I always get stuck chatting and everyone wants to see the babies. Then the customers join in, such a pain!

My last day as a free woman....tomorrow morning I will start a less cookie-ful lifestyle. I will be more active and hopefully tighten, tone, and de-fat my tummy and thighs. I think I will take some before shots in an effort to see the progress I am making. I've never had to do this before, don't hate me. This is going to suck. Why did my metabolism turn its back on me? We were suppose to be together forever!

Friday Morning

So here I sit, in the dark with my laptop, wondering how I didn't notice my pump bottles overflowing onto the bed. The wind is blowing my house down and I'm wondering where the snow went, just happy it didn't fall here! Emma is singing in her crib and I'm hoping she doesn't wake Claire. It's 6:30 and we don't get up yet, we don't! Did I mention I'm starving? As in haven't eating in 3 months, stranded in a desert, would kill for a mini fridge in my room? Yeah. Food and I are developing a love/hate relationship. Deep down inside I swear that a mini fridge would have been the best investment ever, if it wouldn't ensure that I'd be 400 lbs now.

I know if I get up the floor will be cold and the house will be drafty. The growl from my stomach was just louder than Emma's song, ohmygoodness! I think the whole point of me blogging right now was to ask what everyone does when their kids get off schedule. Emma shouldn't be waking up for another hour at least, and last night, oh last night! Dear Claire was a bit cranky all day, fine, whatever, no big deal. Then at 6 she needed a nap. Did I mention bedtime was at 8? So we get her up a little after 7, do the bedtime mambo and then it hits. The child doesn't want to sleep. At all. Doesn't even want to lay down. WTH? Go to sleep. I know you're tired. I see you rubbing your eyes! 10 o'clock! She finally gave in at 10! That kicked my butt, and ruined my plans but laundry can always wait. I know I've been particularly fortunate with the girls sleeping sooo well, but I'd like things to stay that way. I've noticed that they are changing their sleep habits and I don't know what to do. Are they sleeping too much? Should I cut naptime? Right now they get 3 naps a day and they've started making their naps longer. I'm worried if I wake them from their nap instead of just letting them wake themselves that they'll be cranks and not fully rested. But is it worth it to deal with a crank during the day to ensure you get sleep at night?

Babies need manuals. Really. Custom tailored to each baby. And Emma needs to find her way back to sleep land for another hour.

Shouting out at Rebecca-no Hailey video still.
Shouting out at Leigh-sorry about Billy/Elton.

WTF Wednesday-In reverse

Today's WTF Wednesday will be done in reverse from the end of my day to the beginning. Here goes....

  • I just watched Bear Gryllis piss on his shirt, suck some pee out of the shirt into his mouth, then put the pee drenched shirt on only to run through the desert to find the coast line. WTF? What won't this man do?
  • Asleep DH- "How are those bras working out?"-WTF? Really? What are you dreaming about? I ask him. "HOW ARE THOSE BRAS WORKING OUT?" he repeats loudly and with feeling! Then he tells me nevermind, he got it. Well I'm glad I helped you with that one pal!
  • I bartered. I agreed to some "adult time" in exchange for him letting the dogs out and giving me time to pump. He even brought me a nice cold glass of milk. The way we're developing as parents is really odd. I seriously bartered pump time for sex. WTF?
  • I was able to browse, cut and pay for fabric in under 30 minutes-WTF?
  • I've been craving dead cow and cookies. WTF? How much lower can my iron go?
  • We agreed on going out to dinner, to get my dead cow and fabric, but before we could go I insisted on de-pooing the yard. After I reached 20 piles I stopped counting. My yard was a poop lasagna. Poop. Snow. Poop. Snow. Poop. Only the warmer weather melted the snow layers leaving some really nasty, squishy, weird colored poo. Half the yard is still covered with snow and the older dog has been walking up this snow covered mound to make his own version of Mount Poopmore. Really? I'm not hiking in my own back yard to clean poo. That was a horrible 15 minutes of my life. WTF? Can't it just melt back into the earth and grow me some nice grass?
  • I took the girls out to the bulls eye store after lunch and it was E-M-P-T-Y! WTF? I'm never that lucky, especially the day before sn*w!
  • Did I mention they're calling for more sn*w? WTF? FML!
  • I decided to go all Suzie Homemaker and try making my own dishwasher detergent. WTF? It's simple, and cheap, and I can always use the ingredients elsewhere if it doesn't work out. Did I mention it's cheap? Much safer and environmentally friendly and all that jazz. And cheap. Oh yeah, it saves money. And is cheap!
  • I took a 40 minute nap today after I put the girls down for their morning nap. WTF? How did I get so lucky to find time for a nap? I didn't. I just left everything else go. Hence I'm doing laundry at 11 o'clock at night!
  • DH has been really nice in the mornings. He makes up bottles and puts them in a cooler, brings it upstairs and sits it next to the bed so I don't have to get up in the mornings. What a sweetie! WTF? I'm so spoiled.
  • I woke up this morning getting excited about my upcoming birthday and warmer "work-out" friendly weather. WTF? Who is excited to work out? ME! I need to jump on that bandwagon BAD! DH is getting my excited for my birthday, I am such a child sometimes. I just want a night out of the ordinary. I've requested fondue at home. That's all. I also plan on doing NOTHING that day.
Pretty bland, but so is my life. I'm dreading more snow and DH being home with us tomorrow. Not that I dread DH, it's just that he needs to be at school to get ready for his assessment. Just because everyone misses school doesn't mean the rubrics change or any sort of easement is given. Is anyone else addicted to Discovery, TLC, Discovery Health, History Channel type shows? I am becoming addicted and it's not good. I can't wait for the mini series Life to start! More milk, a quick pump and then bed!

Popsicles Por Perros!

I though that doggie popsicles would be my biggest feat this week. What is a doggie popsicle? Use your imagination! What is cylindrically shaped, with a "handle" that comes out of the bottom and is red? Hint-it's not from the freezer but from the bathroom trash can! Got it yet??

So I was worried that I would be chasing dogs from the bathroom all week. I could just shut the door, but that is nearly impossible for me to remember when the ice cream truck is visiting. I came upstairs to check on the girls, who are currently still sleeping at 1:30 even though their bottle was due at 12, and was surprised to see the bathroom untouched! Go devils dogs! Then I trekked the extra 10 steps to my bedroom. Again, I should just learn to shut the door! Super Kenton made a super mess! I found the bk cup torn apart on my bed! Not horrible till I remember it was full of soda! Why do I buy sodas I never drink? Why was I too lazy to make dinner? See this all comes back to the ice cream truck being in town for a few days. So my bed is currently unmade, drying out with the help of a towel. I have no idea where the soda all went. We have a memory foam mattress and it doesn't really feel wet so I'm sure it's seeped down inside like a big, stinky sponge. Gross! How am I ever going to flip this mattress? It's a king and I'm 5'2". Is it even flippable? Ok. That was today's popsicle induced rant.

I sooo hate my period. And the neighbor. Who rocks out in their Hyundai Sonata at 1:30 in the afternoon? Loooooooser!

Sunday [Not So Fun Working] Funday

So I stole this Unexplained X2 who stole it from Discovering Wildlife who played along with MannLand. Got it? I needed a way to settle down from work before bed while a certain DH and a pile of dogs over take my bed.

1. How often do you wash/change your sheets?
At least once a week. Gross. We have two behemoth dogs that share the bed (Kenton insists on being under the covers-WTF!) and no matter what I do there is always dog hair or dirt or other unmentionables. I definitely know it's time to change the sheets when they are licking their own funk off the sheets!

2. When is your birthday?
March 9, which I shared with the chinless wonder Steph M, the bratty Steph S and Bobby Fischer. I just found out Amerigo Vespucci too! It also happens to be the day Notorious B.I.G. died.

3. Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life?
Nope. Never. I would kirk and bail. I am not a very social person although I can totally play the part when needed. I'd much rather never leave my house. But I love to go out. Hence I pass 3 Wally World to go to the one that is always vacant. People are way to curious about twins.

4. Brad Pitt or George Clooney?
Hmm...I'd say Clooney because my girls would have to split the money with way too many kids if I picked Pitt. Haha. And I have a thing for older men that are rockin' the salt-n-pepa!

5. If you could change one thing about your body what would it be?
You know when you need to feed the babies and your boobs get ROCK HARD? I'd make that my tummy again! Seriously, this bowl full of cookies, cakes, candies, and way to much whole milk is doing me in.

6. How often do you wash your hair?
Really? I've read 4 people's response and I'm the first one to say everyday. I have horrible thin, baby fine hair. No lie. It's baby hair. So wispy and super fly. It turns to a grease pit every 12 hours.

7. Do you have pets?
Boy do I! Let's start...2 behemoth dogs, a bag of bones cat, a small school of fish, several dust bunnies and a husband. Do the children count? I have to feed them and clean up their shit too. Only they don't make half the mess of the others.

8. How many social networks do you belong to..if you had to give up one, what would it be?
How many are there? I only have my fb account and this here blog. I can not tweet, don't see the point. Although now that I have fb mobile and I'm getting a new phone [been working my way up to actually going to the store to pick out a phone-baby steps!] I could potentially use fb like twitter.

So work was not so fun. Grocery shopping in the morning. Do I have the energy to run to Sam's? Does anyone want to go with? My shortness makes getting a car seat into a shopping cart hilarious! How do you/did you shop with two babies? I can't wait till they can sit-at least one of them.

Not Folding Laundry

Which is exactly what I should be doing! I finally got the girls to take a nap! The two weeks with Daddy home really messed with our schedule, we turned into a family of bums! But I just had to get on and vent.

So it turns out I really hate my job. Something about being home all the time now makes me really not want to go. I only work 2 full days and 2 half days. Those two half days are killer! I really don't bring in much but it's enough to make sure we scrape by. I would love to find something to do at home, or hit the lottery. But that would require me to play, which requires money, which requires working...which I don't want to do! I still really enjoy a lot about my job, I like to cook. I love to clean. I am not such a fan of people, I hate following rules and directions. I can cook in my own kitchen and be far more happy-only my patrons aren't paying at home!

What I want to know is how do you SAHM make it work? If I had been able to work through my pregnancy I would most likely been able to stay at home. Of course I wasn't so instead of paying off the debt we had, I made a lot more. Here is Maryland teachers aren't paid during the summer so we use our tax return and savings to survive during the summer when DH isn't working.

I'm really torn about what to do this summer. I want to work my butt off so I can flat out quit come fall. Working sounds soo horrible and I'll miss the girls terribly. Plus I want to keep pumping till they are at least a year and work makes that difficult, unless I invest in the car adaptor for my pump. Then there is the issue of the beach. We are at the beach all the time and if I am working like a dog, I can't make that happen. Family time will always win. There is also part of me that thinks it's only fair I work two months during the summer while DH is off since he works the other 10 months and misses out on so much. Thoughts? Suggestions? HELP!

Back to the laundry monster!

Oh Hailey...

Let me being by introducing Hailey. Hailey is my fat, flabby, saggy belly. I would say that at my best I've given all of 17% of my effort to move her along. Instead I indulge her and keep her happy, hence this bowl of chocolate pudding in my lap!

Hailey has started peaking out and reminding me of how much she needs to go. I was just browsing the bathing suits. MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Riiiiiight. Did I mention we love the beach? That we're there all the time? That our ultimate goal is to move there!? Is the problem obvious? Hailey is not one for fun in the sun! Well, I'm sure she would love it but I just don't want to be seen with her. I'm such a horrible friend!

I keep saying I'll work out. I'll do this and I'll do that. But when it comes down to it I find a million other things I could do and make up a billion excuses. Tomorrow is always a better day to exercise! In all seriousness, I am afraid that it won't make much difference. DH keeps harping on how I should change my diet (what's wrong with pudding at 11 pm?) and add some exercise and Hailey will instantly be a memory. But I've noticed that even after I tighten my abs and suck in, I have flab. It's just the loose sink, that doesn't seem to be stuck to me anymore if that makes sense. It doesn't look like the super saggy twin skin you see in googled images, and yes I do google to make sure I'm not that out of control with my weigh, but I don't want to put in a ton of effort for minimal results. Maybe it's a mild case of twin skin, or maybe I'm making another excuse...

Anyhow, Hailey + bathing suit = bad idea. My happy bikini clad body is gone.

This was 30 weeks, my anniversary, and my last bikini shot-boy was I rocking it! I could pull off the preggo look.

What will I wear now? Am I destine to wear a mom suit? Should I go back to looking for modesty suits? The girls are 7 months old already and I wonder how everyone else just shed their weight and look amazing! What is a girl to do?

Cloth Diapering-Explicit Content

So Leigh asked for a cloth diaper post and I am all to happy to oblige. I don't think many people use cloth diapers for fear of this
but it's not all that bad, especially if you're cheap like me. Things get much better once you're dealing with this
I also chose cloth because its better for the environment, safer for baby and I hate disposables. They stink, they're ugly, and the squishy absorbent stuff inside gives me the heebie geebies. We discovered that Emma's bottom is very sensitive so whenever she is in disposables she breaks out with oozing sores and will bleed. Talk about guilt!

Cost:
I initially spent approximately $100 on diapering needs before the girls were born. I wasn't 100% sure I could handle CD'ed twins so I started out with the cheapest and easiest method-old school prefolds with covers. I purchased 4 dozen prefolds, traditional 3 panel cloth you might think of your grandmother using, but ended up getting almost 5 dozen. I purchased them online from a store selling factory seconds. I also purchased 6 covers and a waterproof wet bag to line the diaper pail. My cheap self also got a medium size simple flip top kitchen trash can to use as a pail. 6 months later, I'm still using the same diapers and covers and have added 5 new covers($75) because they were cute. I purchase covers that are adjustable so they'll last through potty training. Some of ours are going to be replaced soon as I try different covers out, searching for the best fit and cutest colors but no matter how much I spend it will still be cheaper that disposables. One case of disposables cost around $20 and won't last a week with twins so I've definitely gotten my investment back!

How I Do It:
Like any other diaper! Put it on, replace when wet. Usually every 3-4 hours or at the smell of poo! The dirty diapers go into the pail and the cover is wiped clean and reused till it is dirty with poo or the day is done. At night time we use two cloths so they can go all night ( from 8-8/9) without leaking.

Washing:
I wash usually every other day. We'll DH does a lot of washing because it's difficult to go up and down two flights of stairs so many times with the girls. I empty the bag of dirty diapers into the washer; diapers, covers with velcro closed, and the bag. I do a pre-wash with a tiny bit of detergent on cold, then a wash on hot with double rinse with a tiny bit of detergent and baking soda. If they still stink or have stains we'll soak them over night in a ton of baking soda and some oxiclean, then rewash.

Over all it has worked out wonderfully. Some people have issues with it but I could really care less, it's not like they're changing my diapers! I can't wait to purchase some new diapers. I want to pick up a few all-in-ones and some more covers. The lady I buy from is announced she is opening a new store and I am soo excited!

And just to show off...
So how much do you spend on diapers? Am I the only one in cloth?

WTF Wednesday

Welcome Back!

Cookies are my weakness. I eat them ALL the time! I'm surprised my children didn't come out as little blobs of dough. I make dough to have fresh cookies all the time. I love cookies. That being said...

When we were leaving our visit with Blind Nana (my mother) she threw a bag in the back of my car that had dog treats her dog didn't like and a bag of cookies. SCORE! Well much to my dismay the shiny red package wasn't Chewy Chips Ahoy. It was Chewy Fudgy White Chocolate Chips Ahoy. WTH?

So I am a traditionalist and don't like my cookies messed with. Strike one. Then. THEN. Oh then it got better. I look and it's half eaten! WTF!!? Seriously? You lead me on and switch the bait, then you eat half the bait and don't reseal it properly so it's probably less "chewy" and more "break your teeth."

Yeah, yeah. They were free. It's the thought that counts but that is sinful! I don't want your trash! Did it take you half the pack to realize you didn't like them? So instead of having cookies as my pre-bedtime snack I'll be eating this lovely dish of air I slaved over! So depressing. I also get to watch whatever my sleeping husband has set the T.V. to because he's "not sleeping". Does your husband watch T.V. with his eyes closed too?

Our Last Day

"She has a PISA" I said with a slight touch of pump envy.
"You have a pizza in the fridge" he sleepy responded.
This is why I love my husband.

You have to love the Duggars. You just have to! The irony of them staying in a birth control activists' house, hilarious! Although went they showed the baby in NICU and I heard the familiar sounds, I shed a tear. My girls have grown so much. I am the luckiest mama ever!

Today we went to the shore. Yes. Through the mini clipper and blowing snow we went to the shore for some fabulous shopping deals!

Carter's outlet had 30% off clearance and Old Navy had 40% off all childrens clothes! SCORE! I picked up a bunch of clothes for next winter. Two bags full of clothes for under 40 dollars, I felt like a total shopping DIVA! If I had known the 40% applied to clearance at Old Navy I would have done much more damage. DH was able to replace some pants that I destroyed with chapstick. Over all it was a great day with my family and some wonderful pizza! Ha ha. Now I just need all this snow to melt. As in melt away and not refreeze like it is going to do all week which forced the school system to go in 2 hours let for the rest of the week!

I will miss him however. These last 11 days have been wonderful. DH has gotten up every morning with the girls! EVERY MORNING! I haven't had this much sleep in a year. How am I ever going to get back into my groove?

So I'm off to indulge myself in DH's brownies (with ice cream and whipped cream-good bye pathetic attempt at losing weight) and some 16 and pregnant. How sad am I? I can't help but love this show and hate it all at the same time!

New and shiny-just how I like my awards!!

Thank you soo much Leigh! I felt so loved!
So here is what this award intales...

Thank the person who nominated you and give them a link - check

Share seven things about yourself - Here goes! What can I say that won't make me sound too weird...

1. I have a foot fetish. As in I am really anal about the socks I buy, how they are matched and put in my drawer AND which foot the sock goes on. I have left socks and right socks. Yes there is a difference and NO a sock is not just a sock. That being said, I would much rather live in flip flops all year and can't wear socks to bed, wear the same pair all day or wear them in summer for the most part. I also can't have anything at all between my toes! I even hate picking lint out!

2. At least once every day I say to myself that I hope to get pregnant again. Crazy right? Only I want it to magically happen for free!

3. I'll stay in the house as long as possible to avoid passing by my neighbor and getting caught in conversations.

4. I only have two bras that fit. I hate shopping so much that I just make do.

5. Working, adult conversation and alone time are things I do not miss since I becoming a part time SAHM. I would love to quit outright!

6. Each daughter has a unique poop smell, and I can identify the culprit! How gross!

7. I don't get nearly as much done as I am capable of each day. I have embraced the philosophy of "they're only this old today" a little too much! I should really work on this, my house desperately needs the work! Any bedroom color suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I need the jump start!

Now nominate seven other bloggers with links!- Ditto

1. Clio - A kind ear and warm heart who helped me through my IVF immensely while struggling with her own.

2. Erin - A twin girl mama with far more energy and amazement than I could ever muster!
3. A Few Good Sperm - Will be too busy enjoying her two new beautiful bundles to repost-I totally understand!
4. Mary - Home to a uterus of STEEL who is busy with a bouncing baby boy, and looked HELLA GOOD after popping him out!
5. Kami - Recovering and rebounding after a marathon pregnancy! You go girl! Those baby girls a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and so are you!
6. Rebecca - A mama who scares the pants off me with what the future holds for toddler twins! Ack!
7. Just Another Motherhood Blog - Gorgeous baby with attitude! It's one thing after another with her baby girl, I don't know how you keep it together!

Ok. I should be done pumping by now so I should probably start!

Hodge Podge Pictures

So....more snow. Lovely. I'm so sick of it and I am equally torn between loving the time with the family and hating my husband being home. How horrible right? It's just that I can't follow "my routine" when he is home. It's nothing he is doing, I just can't get off my ass and do it. He makes me lazy. There, I don't feel so guilty. So this entry will be as scattered as my thoughts currently are from being locked up forever.

Lets start with my in-grown hair. Just what everyone is dying to hear about. Just hear me out though! I'm terrified to touch it. Granted it's not in the best of places, they never are, but....DH had a similar bump that he picked at just two weeks ago. He'll be finishing his 4th antibiotic sometime next week which will hopefully clear up his MRSA infected arm! That's right, I sleep next to plague. I'm afraid that he's oozing mess will leave the hole in his body and find it's way to my hole! What is a girl to do?

Moving right along...what does this picture scream??

It screams I just interrupted nakey time and am tickled pink with myself!! So much for a November baby! HA! If only it were that easy! I would love, LOVE, LoVe to get a picture of her tooth. I swear it is there! I'm up to 96% sure that it is a tooth. It just seems weird that it is a canine coming in first. How long does it take a tooth to come in? I'm afraid this one has stalled! Milk can't calcify on their gums right?

So Wednesday Claire and I went downstairs to make some baby food. We're still not eating food, but I figured why not take advantage of the free time and whip up some to freeze. That's correct, I bothered to get myself out of bed. Notice she is still in her PJ's, as was I and DH and the dogs would have been too if they wore them! The snow has made us such bums! I did take pictures as I was so proud I was actually accomplishing something!

So here are the yams and squash. Yes they were in the basket, I don't know what lives on top of my fridge and I like to think that this nice straw basket will protect my vegetables.

I made some holes...

...and cut some squash.

I even took the seeds out which I HATE doing. The stringy stuff inside gives me the willies. I just got chills thinking about it! I should have saved the seeds to plant this spring.

In to the oven with you, and of course I didn't spray the pan. I'm glad it wasn't one of the nice new ones.

Claire is still content and clueless as to what I'm doing. This smile was from me singing random 80's music while I worked.

This sweet potato was SOOO good.

Then I beat the life out of it and doused it with BM.

And stuffed it into ice cube trays to freeze. Notice the bag in the back-snowday cookie dough balls!!!

While the squash was cooking I went up and traded out babies.
I'd like to say that I have never cooked squash like this but it made my house smell yummy!

It was so bright and pretty and fairly tasty. I added some BM and beat it to. I kept licking my fingers as I worked, that was until I realized that I was eating a part of me and got a tad disgusted. Then went back for more.

Before I put the last pieces in the sink I went in for approval.
I'm just hoping that they'll eat food one day. I can't pump forever, although I am starting to like this full figured look... ;)

So for about $5 of produce I got 3 1/2 ice cube trays. That made 3 freezer bags full of cubes. Plus the banana I already had frozen, and the cereal on the counter top. I think I'll skip buying more cereal unless I find that coupon for a free box. It has no real value and I just made all this food. It's not like they're going to eat it anyhow right? How much is gerber food?? I need to know how much I saved!

So is anyone else in Maryland or the surrounding storm-struck states surprised at how little the second did? Maybe it was just here, but it seems like the wind blew most of what fell away leaving only a few extra inches. All the sun helped today but it definitely didn't melt the 4 feet of my sidewalk. Not like I'll be getting any mail anytime soon! Speaking of mail...what happened to the U.S. Postal Service not letting anything stop them?? Ok, I'll give you a blizzard but today was clear. As were Monday and Tuesday! I haven't had mail since last Friday! I even had DH put salt down! Hmm I wonder if I can get out of a car payment this month due to the bad weather?? I'm so cheap LOL!

Tomorrow I'll post some more snow pictures and take care of my new award! Now I just need the energy to get up and close the window. These old radiators kick off serious heat!

Who dat? WTF Wednesday!

Who dat? Dat be me-going insane from being stuck in the house from ALL THIS F*CKING SNOW! WTF?

Sorry, I got a little carried away. No, no I didn't. This is crazy. Ridiculous. Insane! I'm pretty sure the snow will be over my head. I wish I were joking. I live in Maryland. Maryland doesn't get this much snow. There are rules to winter and Mother Nature isn't following them! All this wind is reminding me how we need new windows, and how not being able to work makes this a little more difficult!

I'm sick of hearing the neighbors argue. I'm sick of these walls. The color white makes me physically sick. How do people not go mad? Did I mention there are babies? There are two of them who seem to be completely un-phased. I'm now 92% sure Emma is getting a tooth but try as I might I cannot get a picture. She is also SUPER VOCAL, squealing and yelling up a storm. HA! Storm. Ugh. Claire is just rolling with the flow. I am soo lucky to have such happy babies! I am really regretting not going out yesterday before work. Did I mention I worked? I went in to help out with all the crazies who were preparing for the world to end buying everything in sight. Had I not worked I could have made it to Joann's and could be happily making diapers in my frigid basement. Instead I made mousse, then realized we had no whipped cream.

Oh look, its snowing harder now.

Well Claire and I are going to make some baby food. Hopefully I'll post tonight with some pictures, if I don't l lose my mind before then! Seriously, this snow, WTF?!

Hark! In The Distance...

...is that a tooth I see? I really hope not. I'm not looking forward to starting this process. I'm not 100% sure it's started though. Last time we were certain Em was teething! We saw it, we felt it, it was there and she wasn't enjoying it. Than it was swallowed back up, completely disappeared! Now she's sporting another possible tooth. This time though it's not a front tooth, its a canine. She's going to be an upside down vampire. Lovely. Hopefully this one will disappear too!

...is that more snow I see forcasted? Why yes it is! An additional 12-18 inches on top of the 30 inches that has already graced our region! We have no sidewalks. DH shoveled half the side walk, than started on the cars and we ended up throw the snow from the cars and road on the other part of the side walk. So if you venture to the top I'm sure you can see the entire city of Baltimore!

...is that my husband having a break down? It must be. Apparently spending 3 days in the house is his limit. My "I was on bedrest for months" argument fell on deaf ears. He harped on the fact that I "got to go out" and that is why he is going out. I only went around the block to get milk and then to work. You know work, with the crazy people who heard additional snow fall and feared they would be snowed in again with teething children...LOL. I find it amazing that people were slamming the deli for lunch meat when there was no bread-ANYWHERE! They had almost depleted the english muffins!

It's shaping up to be a special week. DH has all but said I'm not going out with the girls-with him or by myself. He is getting awfully bossy in his old age. I think if the girls are awake I just might go out to spite him. Maybe I just feel this way since I am home with the girls, which I love, but I am finding out that there is a disconnect between him and the happenings of the house. That's something I need to work on. Just as I should work on fixing up my "crafting" table and get some more diapers together and plan out the rest of my life. I think today I'll just try and relax and think of the million reason my husband should live another day, despite his best efforts to prove me wrong!

How is the rest of the world holding up?

Superman

Every now and again DH gets this bug. He has to be superman. He has to do everything and be "the man of the house". Well I hate it. I really do. I am more than capable. So with this snow storm he has insisted on doing the shoveling. I have practically begged to do it but no. He has all but forbidden me. Now he wants to dig out my car for me. Thanks but no thanks. I can handle it. I like doing it. Plus I will do it my way and be happy instead of unappreciative of the job you do. Sometimes I am way to picky. Is anyone else like that? I can't appreciate the generosity because I want things done a particular way, any other way is just a half done job in my book. I wish I could just tell him no, and that he will listen.

Picturemania II

The Blizzard of 2010, definitely a bit of a surprise. I was expecting snow, duh, but not quite as much as we got. The moment you realize you're stuck, you want nothing more than to get out of the house. Luckily I've gotten used to being stuck so I wasn't the least bit phased. I was actually pretty productive although I did desperately want to go out and play! I even wanted to shovel but DH wouldn't let me! It snowed for roughly 28 hours straight, with the heaviest snow dropping 3-4 inched per hour! The unofficial total for my area looks to be around 30 inches! I can tell you that walking outside it is up to my thighs, and drifts come past my chest to my head! We had a bum day with the girls and I greatly welcomed the unexpected day off. I'm not sure I'll make it in tomorrow either. I have all-wheel drive but the snow is so high I just don't think I'll be able to plow through it. Today I was able to steam clean the carpet, do some tidying, and ruin the laundry. I kinda-sort-accidentally-do-it-all-the-time left chap stick in my pocket. I really need to go through my pockets. I only seem to ruin DH's clothes though...weird.

Here is DH with the girls after dinner. Notice the tell-tale signs of cabin fever!

Look at all this snow! Those are our car, SUV's, that are not going to break free easily. Notice how the path just stops? It stops at the unplowed road that is currently locking my car in place! Those snow piles on either side of the path are almost as tall as me!

Orion searching for a place to "go". There is no where to put this snow! It's covering the sides of the house! It was too deep for him to go out and I was so afraid they were going to go in the house. Orion comes up to my hips.

DH and the awful neighbor I hate shoveling. Well it was more DH shoveling and him talking about who knows what. I know it wasn't an apology for the screaming match he and his girlfriend had that ended with him hitting her just moments before this was taken. Then he smiles and waves! He must think we can't hear him. Enough of him. This gives you a better idea of the depth, DH is 6'1" tall!

Lastly Emma and I this morning. It was still snowing and she was actually looking at the falling snow.

I think tomorrow after breakfast I am going to bundle the girls up and we'll go out. Take some cute pictures and see if I can dig my car out. Right now it's after midnight and I am not the least bit sleepy. I just finished my blizzard cookies. Those would be cookies made during a blizzard missing an ingredient-this time it was baking soda which I have discover is essential. Baking powder just won't cut it!

I should really start a separate picture blog. I need to finish up my blog on cloth diapering too. Is anyone else in cloth? Oh my thoughts are sooooo all over the place. Sorry if anyones head is spinning.

Show and tell time...

These are the dresses I made for the wedding. Of course the wedding was in a very small, old restaurant so I took virtually no pictures, hence another find display of my poorly made bed.

4 of the 7 siblings. Not featured are crazy, jerk-off and elder. Yes, my family is a little demented. Crazy is certified wacka-doo and worked for years to get her credentials. "What a waste of a Saturday"-the last words spoke by Jerk-Off to my mother as her wedding. Elder is the eldest, my Uncle who is a freakily tall and a 'Nam vet in all the stereotypicalness. I love how they are such a mismatched bunch. Can you figure out which one is my mommy?
Claire Bear spent the better part of the evening chewing on everything in sight. Here she is in her car seat which was carefully and thoughtfully place in a upside down high chair from the restaurant. Down side, the top of the high chair was angled! So the girls were in constant peril of flipping.
Emma and Daddy. The girls were over stimulated and sleepy-bad combination! They were cranky and wanting to be held, by only us! Such a good feeling until you feel the eyes on you or people want to "help out".

Hello Blizzard

Thank you for the weekend off!

Oh My Boobness

I started life as a petite person. I had babies. I'm not as petite as I once was.

This is especially true in the area between my shoulders and belly button. (Under my belly button too but that's a complaint of a different color. ) I am finding I have a little more boobage than I can handle. Seriously people, I went from a B to a DD which is very stressful on my 5'2" frame! I'm also about 30 lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight which isn't a bad thing as I was under weight. I would love to know how much of that size increase is weight gain and how much is nursing. I would also love to know how much of this party is sticking around for good. The question I have how long do they continue to grow and do they always shrivel? I'm not looking forward to having shriveled prunes when I'm done nursing and I SWEAR they've gotten bigger since I bought my new bras after christmas. Does anyone else have this problem? I hate bra shopping and dread having to do it again only to toss them when the girls shrivel back down (and hopefully don't make friends with my belly button-I'm not ready for old lady boobs!).

Everyone wanted to see me in a dress and I am sorry to say that no images were captured. Well none that I have access to. I wish I did so you could see the ginormousness of boobs and how they kept forcing my zipper down all night. I even tried my best not to breathe so my gut wouldn't stick out but no luck there! I'll upload pictures of the girls tomorrow. They looked adorable. I even made little shoes that were constantly kicked off!

Not much has been going on around the house this week. I discovered that my family has an entire weeks worth of laundry, and that doing an entire weeks worth of laundry for 3 people is enough to make me want to do a little everyday. I swear the piles were bigger than me! I learned that liking banana nut bread and like oatmeal doesn't mean you like banana nut oatmeal. I've been a real bum this week, not sure why. The girls' 6 month appointment went well. Emma was 15 lb 6 oz and Claire was 15 lb 14 oz. That's 31 lbs of babies! They are growing well and are very much on the charts now.

Today I am dreading work. We are expecting another huge snow storm and DH is adamant about me not going to work. If only it were that simple! He thinks I should leave if it gets bad but how can you just walk away? There are repercussions! Even if I don't officially get in trouble, I could piss off my boss and ruin getting all the shifts I want! Looks like I'll be taking a shovel to work to dig out. They are calling for an inch/hour after sunset and I don't get off till 9! Time to wake the babies are start our morning. They slept in today so of course I'm up!
