Tag!

Pllllllllease don't let me be it!

We're on day 11 of this game and I'm quite over it. Finished. KA-put! NO MORE PLEASE!

The ladies have been playing tag with a tummy virus. Reason #43785 I prefer to not interact with other people. I really was ok with the sickness, with them catching and bringing the yuk home. I didn't mind the clean up and I loved the extra snuggles.

That love was a one time use coupon. Days upon days of the bodily fluid show really drains a person. Even the dog went down! I no longer care to hear about your belly hurting or the status of your scat. I want you better. I want you eating. I want a day without interruptions and I'd really like to not be on a first name basis with the school nurse. I've heard her joke about twins doing everything together and it wasn't funny either time.

So please, whatever may be controlling life as we know it, enough already. Healthy children, 70 & sunny is all I'm asking for! I think I am making some headway on both fronts!

Yesterday & Today

Yesterday the sun was shining and it looked warmed than it truly was. Deterred we were not! Since the first day of spring was ushered in with ugly, wet snow:
I was determined to get out. It was a bit muddy, and still a bit more than chilly after lunch even with the sun shining. But we went and it was wonderful!

It's spring people!!

We said goodbye to the reminants of winter:
She was a quite thrilled to break a few off. It was a steep hike up to them and she did great considering the dead brush and dog.

I'm a wee but excited for summer because some of these trellises were labeled with fruits!! My little Hamona was eager to go on and I decided the scooter was a poor idea after we left the paved path. Thankfully it was light and the devil dog wasn't pulling me after squirrels; only one small instance with an oversized ground hog. Over all I think the dog and the HAM will be excellent hikers this summer. It's the other little ladies I'm worried about.

I did miss them. I miss them a good deal while they're at school. I think 5 year olds should be out hiking with the awesome mothers instead of sitting in a classroom all day. Haha! I'm worried that come the summer they will have lost their sense of adventure and stamina!! Whatever will I do!

Today I packed my camera, eager to venture out again. I waited and wait and the sun never came. Not only did the sun not show up as promised by the dawning of spring, there were flurries! The audacity!! Stay in your own season!! So I'm back inside await springs true arrival and cursing Mother Nature for being so two faced.

Snow-Day Lessons

I thought my plan was brilliant! When you're trapped inside for another snow day, why not make use of the time? I tried my best to be productive.

De-junking the junk drawer.

I suppose most people just have a proper place for everything. My lovely catch-all here was dangerously close to not shutting. I saw a problem and took action!

The second problem I tried to remedy blew up all over the sofa.

The outcome was less than pleasing for all involved. Shoe tying! Who knew this would be an ordeal?! My children learned to walk, speak, read & write, add & subtract, and use the potty with ease; shoe tying is apparently for the birds.

One child doesn't have laced shoes. This child has proclaimed she will never have laced shoes, ever.

The other child eagerly purchased lace-up tennis shoes hoping to learn. This child now eagerly makes the first knot and thrusts her foot out for me to finish.

:/

Tips? Tricks?

Am I expecting too much? It does take some dexterity. I was late to learn, but I really thought this would be easy for them. Each morning we try, and I've used multiple attempts. I even learned a new way! (Which was horribly more complicated than it needs to be!) I realize this isn't the end of the world but COME ON!
You can't wear c.rocs for the rest of your life!

Tomorrow's Numbers

  • 7 - Hours until it's starts snowing its ass off.
  • 8 - As in 8 p.m., the hour they closed school for tomorrow.
  • 6 - 6 to 4 day weekend is the current forecast.
  • 9 - Tomorrow's low temp.
  • 294755 - Things I'd like to accomplish tomorrow.
  • 3 -  Things I'm confident I will accomplish.
  • 120 - Number of pictures I plan to take tomorrow.
  • 2 - Ladies I'll be dragging out into the snow.
  • 4 - Bowls of snow cream I hope to make.
  • 1 - Family nap I'm demanding of the hooligans in this house!
I enjoy surprise days off. I miss my ladies with them always all day. I want to stay cheery and fun for snow days, and I did start this winter off begging for a good snowfall, but come on! It's March already! The county has used all of its snow days and no one wants to be in school once the heat comes. Thankfully the ladies' school is being renovated for air conditioning, the hubs is stuck sweltering in a historically preserved sauna. I'm done with you winter! Bring on the heat and humidity. I want to be outside without my ears hurting from the cold and I'm sick of the smell of winter. I want sunshine, green, and fresh smells!

So one last hurrah and we'll pack in the season, ok Mother Nature??
