Teddy Surgery

The slight horror in her face when she tumbled down the stairs and said:
Teddy cracked open!

They ladies received Valentines from their grandparents with small teddy bears attached. Of course these 4" teddies were now prized possessions and one of them was now leaking his inners. Just want I want to deal with before bedtime! So I had genius parenting moment; YOU can sew him up in the morning. Pure brilliance!

Look at those stitches! All by her lonesome!!
Sadly I don't have any during shots, because she was very into this repair. She was mending her teddy, and she sweetly calmed him during the procedure. She promised it wouldn't hurt and she would make him good as new. So stinkin' sweet!

So Teddy is now good as new.

And someone is pleased as punched to have completed this. I fully expect that he will be cast to the bottom of the toy bucket and out the door before summer, but for now lets enjoy this victory! She sewed! Independently! My fingers aren't bleeding!!

She also wanted to take pictures of me, post lesson and pre-shower.
You're welcome world!

Tried anything new with your wee ones?!

Snow Day

What was promised to be a decent snow day quickly petered out, thanks MandyE for hogging all the snow. It was a snow day none the less and not of the two hour delay variety but a full blown snow day. There was baking, cleaning, food prep, crafting, and general laziness.

Sweet, sweet laziness!

Of course some of us ventured outside. I took this opportunity to dust off the big camera.

May she never lose the desire to shovel and may her skills greatly improve!

Nearly all of my pictures are blurred thanks to a certain dog desperately searching for a patch of nonexistent grass. Ugh.

When we finally made it inside after walking and writing in the snow, we decided to warm up with some hot chocolate. The salted caramel was a delicious touch! Baby B and I were uploading photos when we decided to start taking pictures remotely though the computer.
Good times!

Now if only this soup would cook itself I would be set for the evening!

How is the weather where you are?

I am a little upset we didn't get a good snowfall today, or this winter. I feel after President's Day there is no hope left for a snow storm. Fingers crossed these bibs will fit next year too!

2015 Progress : Chores

I started with a small goal in mind. Me too.
As in I wanted in on the fun. I see my husband and children enjoying life, and I see myself pick up the aftermath. I found myself become upset and bitter over things they weren't doing, never mind the fact that I didn't effectively communicate my displeasure. While communication will be a life long issue for this momma, passing off some of these responsibilities to other capable parties has been freeing.

It started with chores, which I struggled with. I refuse to to offer any sort of brib or enticement to be a responsible member of this family. Not gonna happen. I did want the ladies to have an opportunities to learn money management and to earn spending cash. In came some thinking and pinteresting.

A chore chart that included responsibilities. You have to take care of your responsibilities before you can do chores for payment. The payment: screen time or cash.
